Mooga dali nissein (Moong dal porridge) is a simple healthy homemade recipe that is a good fever diet, especially after a severe cold. It is a protein diet and can be had by pregnant and lactating women. It is also very good for convalescent. This is a long forgotten dish that was commonly prepared in Konkani homes.

Ingredients

You need

For one big glass of Mooga dali nissein

  • 2 tbspn of cooked moong dal
  • 1 tspn cardamom powder
  • 3/4th cup warm milk
  • 1tspn sugar or grated jaggery

Method

Blend the cooked moong dal in a mixer to a smooth paste. You need not have to add water as the cooked water will be sufficient for grinding.

Transfer it to a bowl and add sugar, cardamom powder and mix well.

Now add warm milk and serve.
