KARTYAYANI PAI
Namastae………I, Padma, am the grand-daughter of Kartyayani Pai. This site I am dedicating to my grandmother who was a good cook, a good story teller and above all a loving human being. Eventhough her style of cooking did not have any of the modern day equipment’s used in our kitchen like gas stove, pressure cooker, various cutting and slicing instruments; she had her own style, simplicity and above all dedication in the work she was doing. I learned her recepies, stories, songs she used to sing through my mother and my aunts. Now I am sharing them with you all. Hope you will enjoy my recepies……
I, Padma, the granddaughter, is the developer, food maker, photographer of this blog site……. I thank my mother (the main person), paternal and maternal aunts and cousine sisters who have helped me in cooking.
NB: A few of the recepies I have taken from Konkani cook books, orally from my friends, sisters, paternal aunts etc…… I thank them all for their help.
Since we have mingled with Keralites since generations we konkanies have incorporated a few of their dishes in our cuisine. There may be slight variations from the normal Kerala style of cooking in these recepies. These I will be including in a separate section.
In this site I will be mainly concentrating on the traditional GSB cusine of South Kerala.
